According to an ancient text on Yoga*, there are five types of giving and taking.
If you take one hundred percent and don’t give anything in return, you can be called a thief.
If you take one hundred percent and give fifty percent, you’re a debtor.
If you take one hundred percent and give one hundred percent, you’re a good business person. (That’s how business should be done: give in return for what is received. If a business person gets $10, he or she should be sure to give $10 worth of goods or services. That’s fair business.)
If you take fifty percent and give one hundred percent, you are called a righteous person.
But if you take nothing and give even ten percent, fifteen percent, or one hundred percent – whatever possible – you are a saint, a Yogi.”
