Chatter-Brained

If this sounds familiar to you, we’re like-minded. Note: this is quite the opposite of scatter-brain, which is the subject of another post.

When I sit in meditation to approach yoga (a sustained single-pointed focus, free of interruption), I’m astounded by the amount of mental chatter going on inside.

I’ve been taught to treat the interruptions as clouds – acknowledge them respectfully as what they are (ego), then let them drift by.

When I’m able to accomplish single-pointed focus, I understand the freedom the practice of yoga can help us achieve. I’m unattached from doing – I’m being a being.

Try one of the practices I’ve posted – they quiet a busy mind by focusing on movement paired with breath.
